The research aim was to study the influence of a nutrient medium hormonal compositioof nutrient medium (2,4-D or NAA) and vitamin-mineral complex for receiving a suspension culture of Ashwaganda (Withania somnifera L.) in vitro. The suspension culture initiated from friable callus tissue type. It was established experimentally that to obtain a suspension culture quickly it is advisable to add nutrients vitamin-mineral complex on the background of auxin, either 2,4-D or NAA in a concentration of 2 mg/L. Under these conditions, well-formed proliferating, melkogravijnye suspension culture consisting of viable cells on average by 78%. The obtained suspension culture can be used to study the secondary metabolites and, in particular, withaferin A.
