GETTING CAROTENOIDS AND THEIR IDENTIFICATION METHODS OF SPECTROSCOPY IN THE IR AND UV REGIONS

One of the stages of creating medicines containing carotenoids is to isolate individual carotenoids from natural objects and identification of isolated compounds. The purpose of the study – the isolation of carotenoids from natural objects and their identification methods of spectroscopy in the IR and UV regions of the spectrum. Objects of the study: β-carotene, lycopene, lutein, zeaxanthin, astaxanthin isolated from carrot fruits, tomato, pumpkin, corn and shrimp shells. To isolate individual carotenoids from raw material sources has been standardized liquid extraction method using several solvents and mixtures of extractants to further separation and purification. The results obtained in the experiment β-carotene, lycopene, lutein, zeaxanthin, astaxanthin were identified by spectroscopy in the infrared and UV regions of the spectrum. The proposed method allows to obtain the isolation of individual carotenoids, and methods of spectroscopy IR and UV regions may be used for preliminary identification and evaluation of purity of biologically active substances.
