THE CONTENT OF MATRIX METALLOPROTEINASES AND THEIR INHIBITORS BEFORE AND AFTER PROSTHETIC HERNIAREPAIR

After analyzing the results of treatment of 51 patients with postoperative ventral hernia during the period 2010–2015. The purpose of the study was to assess the content of MMP-8 and MMP-9 and tissue inhibitor (TIMP-1) in blood serum and in wound exudates for various embodiments prosthetic hernia repair. All patients were divided on two groups: 1st group – 25 patients operated with a titanium prosthesis, 2nd group – 26 patients operated with polypropylene prosthesis. Content of matrix metalloproteinases and tissue inhibitor was determined by immunoassay using commercial kits «RaD System» (USA). It was found that in any form of hernia repair concentration MMP-8 and MMP-9 significantly exceed the reference values, however the level MMP-9 uncomplicated form of the 7th day didn’t differ from control. Explored indicators exudates far exceeded the level of serum. During early development of complications TIMP-1 in serum of blood was lower than in the absence of with a good response to antibiotic treatment the level MMP-9 in the serum of blood was decreased, with the lack efficiency – increased. It was revealed significant increase MMPs and TIMP-1 in the presents of early postoperative complications. The study of qualitative and quantitative characteristics MMPs and theirs tissue inhibitors is a promising direction for basic research, which allows to develop new approaches to diagnosis and treatment of complications of prosthetic hernioplasty.
