In 4 parts of article presents investigation of the drug effect on gastric/duodenal mucosa integrity upon subchronic and chronic treatment with
ulcer inducers. Preventive and therapeutic schemes of drug administration are studied for more complete characterization of the drug anti-ulcer activity.
Methods of animal sacrifice at the end of experiments are described. Upon autopsy and stomach/duodenum withdrawal, their mucosa must be inspected
visually to count the number of lesions/ulcers and to measure their area. The drug therapeutic efficacy will be calculated by Pauls`s index.
Methodological recommendations presented here will allow the investigators to choose the most appropriate models for screening and preclinical
study of biologically active substances with anti-ulcer activity.
