DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNIQUE FOR QUANTITATIVE DETERMINATION OF TOTAL PHENOLIC COMPOUNDS IN THE CICHORIUM INTYBUS L. HERBS

Expanding the range of domestic medicinal plants remains an important direction of pharmaceutical science. A promising object of study is the grass common chicory Cichorium intybus L. To standardize herbs chicory conducted a study on the development of a methodology to quantify the amount of phenolic compounds in terms of cichoric acid by the method of spectrophotometry. The content of total phenolic compounds in the herb chicory 4.04 %. The relative error of a single definition of this method is 4,73 %. In accordance with modern requirements conducted validation of the developed technique in terms of the specificity, linearity, accuracy and reproducibility. The specificity of the technique is determined by the compliance of the absorption maxima extract of the herb chicory ordinary and cichoric acid at a wavelength of 328±2 nm. Determination of linearity was carried out on 6 concentrations cichoric acid in the range of 1.6 to 11.2 μg/ml. the correlation Coefficient amounted to 0,999. The average percentage recovery if the validation has an average value of 98,48%, the coefficient of variation in the determination of reproducibility made up 4.51 %. With the help of this technique the analysis of raw materials samples collected in different vegetation phase of the plant. As a result of researches it is established that rational time of harvesting grass cultivated chicory ordinary is July, the phase of mass flowering. The data obtained can be used in the development of regulatory documents on the herb chicory ordinary, and also considered in the drafting instructions for the preparation of a given raw material.
