THE STUDY OF STORAGE CONDITIONS OF THE SAPROPHYTE STRAIN CLAVICEPS PURPUREA № 04868244-008-2010-07-T-VILAR

We examined different options to storing the saprophyte strain Claviceps purpurea #04868244-008-2010-07-T-VILAR. The results of our study confirm the ability to store strain of the fungus on stubble agar medium T2 in test tubes at a temperature of 4 °С for up to 2 months without significant changes in viability. However, longer storage leads to a reduction in the number of conidia in the titer from 2,7х108 to 1.1х105 units per ml of suspension and part of the conidia lose their viability under these storage conditions of seed material. We find that storing the strain in the freezer in 40% aqueous glycerin solution ensures the preservation of growth potential and biosynthesis at an acceptable level within 12 calendar months.
