The content of secondary metabolites - flavonoids, catechins, tannins, saponins, pectins and carotenoids in leaves and inflorescences of two closely related species Bistorta plumosa (Small) D. Löve and B. elliptica (Willd ex Spreng.) Kom growing in Magadan region were studied in the article. The content of secondary metabolites - flavonoids, catechins, tannins, saponins, pectins and carotenoids in leaves and inflorescences of two closely related species Bistorta plumosa (Small) D. Löve and B. elliptica (Willd ex Spreng.) Kom growing in Magadan region was studied in the article. The following phenolic compounds were identified by HPLC in aqueous-alcoholic extracts of aboveground organs of studied plants: O-glycosides of quercetin (gyperosid, isoquercitrin, rutin, quercitrin), O-glycoside of kaempferol (astragalin), C-glycosides of apigenin (vitexin isovitexin). Flavonols (quercetin and kaempferol), flavone (luteolin), C-glycosides (vitexin and isovitexin), phenol carbonic acids (chlorogenic, caffeic and sinapic ones) were identified after acid hydrolysis. It is shown that closely related species B. elliptica and B. plumosa well differ on the qualitative structure of phenolic compounds.
