Today ozone therapy is the whole direction in modern medicine. The therapeutic action of ozone is due to its high redox potential.
The assessment of free radical processes and activity of oxidoreductases and their substrates in the blood allow to monitor the effectiveness
of ozone therapy. However, the use of ozone is limited by the choice of doses. The aim of the work was to spend the
study of the processes of free radical oxidation and energy metabolism of blood under the influence of different ozone concentrations
during prolonged use (30 days) in the experiment. The material and methods. The experiment was conducted on 40 white Wistar
rats. The animals were divided into 4 groups: group 1 – control (intact healthy rats), 2, 3, 4 groups – animals who daily were injected
intraperitoneally with 1 ml of ozonated physiological solution with different doses of ozone in it (0,6 mcg, 2,0 mcg and 8 mcg). The parameters
of free radical oxidation, the activity of lactate dehydrogenase and superoxide dismutase, the concentration of malonic dialdehyde,
lactate and glucose were determined in the blood. The results. There was an increase in the utilization of glucose, lactate,
pyruvate, the activation of oxidative phosphorylation, an increase in the resistance of erythrocyte membranes in the blood under the
influence of ozone. Changes of biochemical parameters of blood of rats under exposure of ozone indicated on the possibility of ozone
toxic effects on the body with the growth of its concentration. The conclusion. A dose-dependent effect of ozone was revealed. It was
shown, that the metabolic optimum ozone dose is 0,6 mcg.
