This work represents the identification criteria for «Crataegus flowers with leaves» that is considered as a perspective form of the medicinal raw material in Russia. Due to the microscopic study straight unicellular hairs, СаС2О4 druses and prismatic crystals in-side the mesophyll and leaf veins, brown multicellular glands on the epidermis of the leafstalk, rounded additional vascular bundles within edges of the leafstalks were ascertained as diagnostic features of Crataegus leaves. In addition, a palynomorphological descrip-tion was introduced as an authentic criterion for «Crataegus flowers with leaves» identification. The pollen form in the pole and the equator projections, the surface sculpture of pollen grains, the structure of the apertures and the exine had diagnostic significance. The evaluation of the fractional composition in «Crataegus flowers with leaves» was conducted. The leaf and stem percentage amounted over 45,00±10,4%. According to the primary chemical analysis of raw material in vitro the presence of flavonoids and polysaccharide in investigated raw material was confirmed. For the chemical identification a thin layer chromatographic conditions (TLC) were selected for the simul-taneous identification of major flavonoids (rutin, hyperoside, vitexine and chlorogenic acid) isolated from «Crataegus flowers with leaves». The obtained results would be included in the regulatory documentation draft «folia cum flores Crataegi».
