The study of the morphogenetic potential of isolated bodies of common cocklebur (Xаnthium strumаrium L.) in vitro is described. There was found that the seed germination occurs on the second day of cultivation, whereas under natural conditions the seeds of cocklebur seeds germinate only on the 14th day. In the course of work the sterile culture of common cocklebur was produced and it is shown that the processes of morphogenesis depend on the composition of the nutrient medium and the type of primary Explant. Thus for isolated cotyledons the most favorable environment for the induction of adventitious buds was a medium containing mineral salts on MS and BAP 0.5 mg/l and IAA 0.1 mg/l, and for hypocotyls segments – MS in combination kinetin 0.5 mg/l and IAA 0.1 mg/l.
