The anatomical and morphological studies of the Potentilla anserinа L. were investigated by a light microscopy for the potential applications of pip of this species in the official medicine. The identified diagnostic character of pip can be used for determination of the authenticity of raw materials and possible impurities. Diagnostic signs of Potentilla anserina pips propose to consider: yellowish-brown colour on the outer surface and white-yellow – on a breaks, threadlike shape, flattened on the cross-section, presence of dark-brown threadlike first-order lateral roots and hair-like second-order,a presence of corner collenchymas, storing aerenchyma, a phloem, con-sisted of bast parenchyma and conductive elements and also well-developed wood parenchyma which includes many simple starch grains of an elliptic form.
