The eco-physiological aspects of the production process of different species and forms of Miscanthus (M. sinensis, M. sacchariflo-rus, M. giganteus, M. х hybrid) in the case of biologically active substance – chlorophyll- production are studied. The principal possibil-ity of Miscanthus usage as a source of chlorophyll is shown. For the pigment harvesting one should determine the optimal time for harvesting biomass in order to ensure the maximum level of chlorophyll content. The maximum content of pigments is observed at the beginning of vegetation. But the highest output can be obtained when enough biomass is produced. The plants of M. х hybrid can be considered as the most suitable species for chlorophyll production.
