Liposomes are more and more widely applied as containers of drugs and vaccines in medicine and veterinary science. It is con-nected with the presence at them of such unique properties as the chemical inertness, the biocompatibility with cell membranes of the macroorganism, the biodegradation, lack of the antigens and toxicity. Liposomes are capable to penetrate through the anatomic and cellular barriers, protecting the immobilized substances from adverse factors and enzymes. The main approaches to creation the lipo-somal medicines are analyzed in the review. The factors of influence of physical and chemical properties of liposomes, a cumulative structure of their membranes, the existence of vector molecules on the surface, various ways of introduction to the organism on ability to provide the directed transport in various organs, tissues and cells are considered.
