The article presents the results of a study dedicated to choosing a composition of an immunobiological dosage form with antivi-ral activity with the main aiming towards the Herpesvirus, which is the cause of one of the most common viral diseases in the world. Biopharmaceutical and technological properties of the labial gel were studied during the experiment to create a sample that would have been the most comfortable for the patients as well as the most suitable for the manufacturing process. After studying the proper-ties of all of the constituent elements, the base of the dosage form was composed. The final set of samples overcame various physical tests. We have studied the weight loss of the dosage form that happens due to natural drying out for that we could choose a proper packaging for the future product. The stability of the dosage form was also tested, as well as the humidity, the absorption activity, and the osmotic activity. A big part of the experiment was dedicated to studying rheological properties of the dosage form. We have stud-ied the plastic viscosity and the dynamic viscosity at three temperatures corresponding to storing (20°C), using (32°C) and technolog-ical process of mixing (45°C) the gel. The results are presented in form of rheological curves. They show the similarity in viscosity of the samples and also let us claim the samples to be highly thixotropic. This makes the samples possibly comfortable both in the manu-facturing and in the using of the gel. Basing on the complex results of the experiment, the most advanced composition was chosen for further work.
