In order to study the antioxidant protection of gametes from an oxidative stress, the effect of ascorbic acid (AA) on the state of the phospholipid layer of the spermatozoon membrane of the men of different fertility was investigated in an in vitro experiment. The oxidative stress was induced by an 2O2. As an-The externalization of phospholipid phosphatidylserine (PS) was detected by the "annexin" method. The effect of gametes protection of fertile males with AK from the H2O2-induced expression of the apoptosis-PS marker was observed. Infertile men showed the violation of the mechanism of apoptosis. Oxidative stress causes irreversible biochemical changes in the membrane of normal gametes and FS begins to be expressed on its surface, be-ing a signal of sperm death. The addition of AK to gametes of fertile men does not have any effect on the change in FS distribution, but protects cells from H2O2-stimulated externalization of PS.
