The assessment of the opportunity of aerogels’ use as dressings being got via supercritical technology of drying was done.
Methods of supercritical technology of drying were assessed. Classification of polymer materials that can be used in this technology
were also discussed. Estimation of aerogels in accordance with demands of normative documents dealing with medical sorbents was
carried out. It was shown that aerogels made out of alginates possess high absorption ability letting them use as dressing sorbents in
the first phase of wound process for treatment of exudate wounds. While elaboration of such materials all-round investigation should
be done including not only sorption abilities but chemical and physical properties. The research in vivo and in vitro are the most important
ones that can put aerogels as medical sorbent on a special place in the raw of dressing for burns and wounds treatment
