Изовальтрат – содержащийся в корнях валерианы валепотриат – является обратным агонистом аденозинового рецептора A1 с микромолярной аффинностью. Проведено молекулярное моделирование взаимодействия изовальтрата с данным рецептором методом гибкого докинга. Моделирование показало, что изовальтрат при связывании с аденозиновым рецептором A1 имитирует ксантиновые антагонисты, занимая сходное положение и образуя аналогичные связи. Такое взаимодействие возможно за счёт геометрически сходного бициклического ядра, а также аналогичного расположения боковых цепей и акцепторов водородных связей. Полученные данные могут быть использованы в дизайне новых лекарственных препаратов на основе валепотриатов.
