Рurpose: the study of the influence of red leaves extract from Vitis Vinifera L. on the reproductive function of rats. Methods: dry extract was administered to Wistar rats from the 1st to the 19th day of pregnancy in doses of 100 (group II) and 500 mg/kg (group III), the maximum of which was 50 times higher than the daily therapeutic dose. Intact rats (group I) served as control. Evaluation of the offspring was performed on the 20th day of pregnancy. The pre - and post-implantation death was determined, external examination of the fruit was performed, their size and body weight were measured, the condition of their internal organs was assessed by the Wilson method and the bone system by the Dawson method. In the postnatal period of development took into account the body weight growth, survival, and the rate of formation of sensory-motor reflexes during the feeding in the tests: turning on the plane (day 2), the negative geotaxis (7-8 day), turning in free fall (20-day), muscle strength (20-21 day), open field (30-day). The effect of red leaves extract on the generative function of rats was studied when administered to female rats in the stomach for 15 days, and to male rats for 60 days at the same doses. Spermatogenesis was assessed by functional (mean number and duration of sperm movement, presence of pathological forms) and morphological (weight of testes, spermatogenesis index) methods. Results: of red leaves extract from Vitis Vinifera L. caused a decrease in body weight gain of pregnant females in both test groups compared to the control. The extract had no effect on fetal death, the weight and craniocaudal size of the fruit rats. Of red leaves extract in both doses increased the total number of embryos with hemorrhages in the abdominal and thoracic cavities and increased the number of bone abnormalities in 20-day fruit. The extract did not affect the postnatal development of rats. Long-term administration of red leaves extract rats-males and females in the stomach in tested doses did not reveal its damaging effects on the ability of animals to fertilize and conceive, as well as spermatogenesis. Conclusions: taking into account the changes: decrease in body weight of pregnant rats, increase in the number of 20-day fetuses with hemor-rhages in the abdominal and thoracic cavities and abnormalities of the bone system, it is not recommended to prescribe of red leaves extract from Vitis Vinifera L. during pregnancy.
