ALEXEY IVANOVICH SCHRETER  A SCIENTIST, BOTANIC, RESOURCE RESEARCHER (TO THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF BIRTH)

The article presents the biography and scientific activities of prof. A. Schroeter (19182002). The life course, directions and research program for the search for new medicinal plants and botanical resource studies are briefly described, expedition activity. The most important task of the modern stage of the existence of the natural sciences is the preservation of tradition, ensuring the continuity of the scien-tific and ideological legacy of predecessors. The development of the theory of search for new medicinal plants of prof. A.I. Shreter, is a rich scientific legacy of ideas, theories and practical achievements. We should not lose it, but develop and increase it.
