Lichens of the genus Cladina and Cladonia are a promising medicinal plant raw materials, widely used in traditional medicine of the Russian North peoples. The article is devoted to the standardization of this medicinal plant raw material. The technic of determination of the reducing carbohydrate's total with the phenolic reagent (after acid hydrolysis) using UV spectrophotometry in aqueous extracts from the thalli of the lichen genus Cladonia and Cladina is proposed in this paper. The basic metrological characteristics are estimated. The proposed method of determination of the reducing carbohydrate's total in the thalli of Cladonia genus Cladina can be recommended for inclu-sion in the normative documents for this type of the medicinal plant raw material.
